Special encounter.
"Before you stands a large muscular man wearing a leather jacket and sunglasses. He looks serious."
Basically a man stood in the middle of the desert (appearance: player model in leather jacket). Is hostile and will attack if approached (easy for low level characters to run away). Has 101 health, 10mm SMG with lots of spare ammo and sunglasses.
Idea: Kill the terminator, get the sunglasses (and smg). Perhaps the only place in the game (or one of the few) to get the CH + 1 sunglasses?

If there's gonna be a terminator, we have to have a gun better than an SMG. Also, the sunglasses, as far as I know, wouldn't be wearable. a +1 CH Terminator-style leather jacket, however...

Dude... the sunglasses are already IN F2. Mason (Salvatories head man) has them, there is another set as well but I cant remember where.
You put them in your active item slot and they give you +1 CH.
Maybe give the terminator the one of a kind gun from F1? The blade runner one.

I don't think we need random encounters for reasons such as "just because" and "its kewl". This one is one of those.

Think T2, guys. Minigun, anyone?
But yeah, on the strength of the Terminator reference alonoe, this one ain't exactly jumping off the screen at me.

Maybe Terminator and Robocop fighting? Power armour model vs leather jacket model?
Well it was only an idea. I like the Minigun thought though, thats cool.

As usual, Temoid ain't exactly charming, but he's got a point. One of the biggest criticism against F2 was the abundance of pop cultural references and meaningless special encounters. We're trying to keep such references to a minimum in FMF.

Hey, if you put it that way, the idea becomes rather interesting....

The pop culture references never really bothered me, but maybe it's just cause I actually got them. Then there's the fact that I love pop culture so I always enjoyed that sort of fluff.
Though it might be cool just to have a terminator encounter where you when you talk to him he asks you if you're John Connor (Male) or Sarah Connor (female) and you can say yes or no ... that's it ... Yes, you fight em, no you leave dialog and the Terminator walks off the screen.
If you win the fight, and you probably won't at low levels, then you get his shades as a reward, but it doesn't do anything .. it's just called something cool (Terminator Raybands .. or something). And you get his leather armor which is slightly better then normal leather?
It would be cool if the leather armor had "NO FATE" on the back or something neat like that too ... if you're gonna do it at all....
The Monty Python reference in FO2 wasn't needed but it was still fun to encounter it randomly. I like this Terminator idea personally.
